I am not a fan of Tara, who seems to have a good fight or flight look, but is otherwise not a scene maker. I think her side story this season was an attempt to give her character more depth and a stronger image, but by not giving her the knowledge to properly kill a vampire, something even Jason Stackhouse seemed to manage, she came across as even less interesting and somewhat incompetent. After being the biggest pawn of season 2, I don’t see her as coming back from this. She gave the show real Louisiana feel with her accent. So, props to that and good luck to her.

The show had some wow factor at times, like when Russell showed up on the news ripping out the spine of the news caster. This seemed very trippy, and would have made more sense as a delusion. The worlds reaction was close to non-existent, which made no sense. The walls in the backgrounds had some graffiti, and there was the occasional red-neck reaction, but that was nothing new. With the power a vampire possesses, the world would be in a state of immediate panic. That scene was hardly revisited or remembered.

Were-panther?–That’s all I can say about that.

Were-communities that are malnurished in Louisiana? There are illiterate generations of folks living in the swamps, true, but malnurished — No. Now you give them the ability to turn into arguably the worlds most efficient land predator, and you want me to believe that they need help finding food? The only things they should lack are modern, and so they get Jason… At least it’s funny

Werewolves are easier to kill than wild hogs, and the ammo is just as cheap, no silver! While a vamp can be killed by a wood bullet… maybe even a toothpick (where’s Riddick?)… but they can re-grow their brains… just to make Tara look like more of a fool than she already did.– Hey, it worked on Eggs. “This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs.”–Eggs, get it?
Random wickan working at the bar now, and is loud and proud of her practice in the old south… logical. Why did she show up? who cares
How many new characters showed up that weren’t involved in some magical whatever? I count 1. That is the temporary girlfriend who was quickly dumped for the forever virgin vampire. Random gay latino turns out to be a full-fledged brujo who also happened to be the most city stylish person on the show. Is it a stereo type to think that a medicine man should look like… well… a medicine man? I guess so.–Guess Tara was right. She was one of the only humans there. Sookie and Jason are part fairy. My money was on Lafayette. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)

A confusing and, overall, bad season compared to the previous ones. Does this mean I won’t be watching next season? Yeah right! I can’t wait.
